The Zombie Horde

Its been a while since I created anything new for 3DWorld, but in this months issue I share a few techniques to improve your character creation workflow, without adding more stress to what could be an already tight deadline.

 

If you have the magazine you will no doubt be familiar with the image above, but what you might not know is this illustration originally had another purpose.

 

I have wanted to create an image based upon my son for years now, especially after creating my earlier Little Kippers piece, which was based on my daughter. So I took this opportunity to combine all the elements I wanted to share in this tutorial, hair, cloth, skin and texturing, and also base it on my son and his favourite things – Karate and Minecraft.

 

Obviously, the zombies couldn’t go into the magazine due to copyright issues, so the robot invasion was born.
